Korean National Symphony Orchestra International Conducting Competition
Austin was awarded Third Prize and the Orchestra Prize in the 2nd KNSO International Conducting Competition. As part of the competition, he conducted music by Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Brahms in concert.
Masterclass with Alan Gilbert and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra
Austin was one of seven chosen to attend a masterclass with Alan Gilbert and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra. During the three day masterclass, Austin worked with Maestro Gilbert on Brahms Symphony no. 4 and Schumann Symphony no. 2.
Finalist for Music Director of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra
Austin was named a finalist for Music Director of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra. In the 24-25 season, he will conduct two concerts with the orchestra as the final stage of the search.
